Kaleidoscope and kake

Leggings: Topshop

Just a quick post to show you all my new leggings! I am absolutely in love with them and they are definitely bringing a much needed whack of colour back into my life after a rather dreary Winter. I have never been a great lover of plain black leggings - I just don't know what to wear them with! They also shorten my already teeny tiny limbs, however the pattern on these is super flattering and leg lengthening. I personally feel for £20 they are 'not bad at all'.

I'm back off to my home town of Brighton tomorrow for some Birthday celebrations as I have very almost reached the grand old age of 21 (Tuesday 21st folks!). The weeks seem to be flying by at the moment which is making the fact I will be graduating and leaving Uni soon scarily real. To take my mind of that I have been baking loads of cakes...

I made these strawberry cupcakes with my friend Lisa (who is starting up her own vintage re-worked clothing brand - check it out here and here for updates) for Valentines Day. I am not the biggest lover of Valentines... Actually, scrap that, I hate the whole idea of it. But any excuse to eat cakes, chinese and watch movies with the gals should never be completely overlooked... MMMM CAKE.

Review: Foamingly Clean Facial Wash

This is the first item I've ever purchased from the Benefit skin care range. I used to suffer from hyper-sensitive skin throughout my teenage years so I've always been wary straying from my trusty Boots Essentials, Clearasil and No.7 brands. Luckily *touch wood* I haven't suffered an allergic reaction in years so have since decided to branch out more in terms of skin-care. I used to have extremely spot-prone skin, not acne, but still quite bad but these days I am fairly lucky until I roll in at 4am after a night out and forget to take my make-up off.

I decided to embark on my quest for perfect skin by starting with the hunt for a new cleanser. It didn't take very long as one of the lovely Benefit ladies took me aside and gave me a mini makeover. I mentioned I was looking for a new cleanser so she suggested the Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash! I was in a good mood that day so decided to treat myself, as at £16.50 it's by no means the cheapest on the market.

However this is one of the easiest products I've ever used. You need a tiny little squirt mixed with a touch of warm water and it lathers up in an instant. A few scrubs to wake me up and it left my face squeaky clean without drying it out (which I often find with facial products).

The product itself has a fresh and clean smell. It's definitely not fruity or overpowering which I don't enjoy with products for the face as I'm still terrified they'll bring me out in a reaction.

The price tag is a middleweight, but I do feel that this product will last me ages and it works! One thing I would like to mention is that the packaging doesn't represent the price tag at all. I do like it, but for me, it doesn't connote a higher-end brand.

Overall I would definitely recommend this product although I do wish I bought the b.right! Radiance Skincare kit as I really want to try the rest of the range!

Have any of you tried this or any other products from the Benefit skincare range? If you have any more questions about this product don't hesitate to ask.

Dya want to go to the seaside?

asymmetric dress: new look (kids)
belt: primark
boots: primark
hobo bag: charity shop
necklace: primark
bowler hat: here!

Took a wee trip to Bournemouth on Friday with a couple of my housemates! Whilst the rest of the country is snowed in I was frolicking by the sea, however don't be fooled it was absolutely freezing. We still have no snow here in Southampton. BOO FRIGGIN HOO. I quite fancy chucking a few snowballs around before I get old and turn 21 this month (!).

This is what I wore for my tourist day out. The dress was an absolute barg at £15.99 (I think) plus my student discount! The colour and the asymmetric hem tap into the 90's grunge trend we've all seen floating about. I, for one am a massive fan of the grunge look as I never like looking too 'done' however my fake tan still never leaves my side. Believe it or not it's from the teenage range at New Look! There are some advantages to being small I guess, that said this is only age 11-12 (oh man) and the Generation range goes up to a 14-15yrs so I would definitely recommend checking it out for a few tax-free expenditures!

Some snaps from Bournemouth

One of my friends in the photos, Emma has also recently started a blog. Do me a wee favour and check it out here and follow? She's a makeup artist so expect to see loads of beauty bits and Harry Potter fanatics.
